Thursday/Friday

Harking back momentarily to yesterday - don't take my ramblings too seriously, or literally.  When I say I will DIE without internet access, it  is just my way of writing, expressing myself.  Of course I know I won't die without it.

All I can remember of Thursday is Kiwanis, and exploring the alternatives to the cable company.  I think for the time being I will stay with the cable company.  I have discovered that if I unplug the television for a while when the picture is breaking up, it seems to right itself.   And although it annoys me to have to do that, I'll see how it goes.

The Kiwanis speaker was a well known local person who collects old postcards, and has a column in the local paper.   He has thousands of old postcards, and gave a presentation on some of them, it was very interesting.

I didn't go to the hospital today because I was sniffing and sneezing, and we obviously can't go round the floor if we have a cold.   But it didn't come to anything and I felt a bit bad because I am the only one there with Chaplain Bill on a Friday.

Instead I was watching the news and crocheting - and here is the news..............
And this....believe it or not..... is the NATIONAL lunch time news.   A grass fire in Shawnee.  I don't know that even the local news shows the grass fires in Shawnee.   It was on one of the main north/south roads through town is called Kickapoo (it is the name of one of the tribes in Oklahoma) and at first the anchor man, Shepard Smith, thought Kickapoo was the name of the town, until he was told it was a street in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

And another item on all the news programmes.....
Guy at McDonald's requests extra napkins and his request was rudely refused, so he is suing for $1.5m because ......
I wish McDonalds would be rude to me.

Apparently employee, in refusing the request, said something about "you people", and in this country "you people" amounts to a racial slur, hence his undue mental anguish, which apparently is worth $1.5million dollars..

So these are the big news stories.  Never mind Russia invaded Ukraine, the Security Council has gone into session, everyone is looking to Obama to see what he is going to do about it, and talking Armageddon.     Trust me to bring you what is important.
